AB68 impact on Cupertino ordinances (ADU for multifamily)

Hi, Anyone know how is Cupertino handling/implementing AB68 regarding allowing ADUs for multifamily properties?

If someone goes to planning department with proposal to add an ADU to their multifamily property, are they okay with it, or are they dragging their feet? Anyone got any experience with that yet?

Also, the AB68 language says, "If there is an existing primary dwelling, the total floor area of an attached accessory dwelling unit shall not exceed 50 percent of the existing primary dwelling".  What is "existing primary dwelling" sqft for a duplex, e.g., if both units of a duplex are 700sqft, then "existing primary dwelling" sqft 700, or 1400sqft?

Best.
