Contractors do (and say) the Dumbest Things

I am sure everyone in this business has at least one story to tell about the contractor that needed some "Guidance" on how to do their job.

I will start off with a contractor in Southern IL that I hired to do an evaluation.  He found mold in the basement and called code inspection.  He didn't bother to tell me, just called code inspection who promptly sent me a letter of condemnation.  When I called the contractor to ask what had happened and why I was not informed he told me "I was working on the house and he just drove by and stopped".

Why then did my letter start out "Dear Mr. E., We were recently call to a house you own by a contractor attempting repairs...."

Ugh.  Needless to say he did not get any further business from us.  While we do take mold seriously we expect to be informed before the city.
