Apartment over Garage or Tiny House?
My sister and hubby are planning to sell their house and move in mine. They are going to use the profits of the sale to build an apartment over the existing attached two car garage OR build a tiny house on my property. I plan to RV travel and want the apartment or tiny house as a crash pad as needed. I’m located in Rutherford County on a 1 acre lot In a subdivison and I assume I can get a permit for either project. We are still considered rural. All things being equal which project is more cost effective? I’m leaning toward the AOG. We are about a year out from doing this. I’m not sure where to buy plans or how to find a contractor, investigate costs, etc.
Any advice and/or assistance greatly appreciated.
