Contractors for buying a home

Hi, My husband and I are looking for a house to live in. We liked this old house in mountain view that'll need to be remodeled to meet our needs. We think we know how much we want to spend to remodel however, neither of us have any experience with remodeling. Would you recommend that I bring in 3 contractors to get an idea on the amount of work and cost before we submit an offer? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks
