Demolition Costs?
I'm bidding on a house in Chicago that will have to be torn down prior to rebuilding. It's a 2-story 100 yr. old frame house with slab basement. Approx. 1200 sf (not incl. basement). Nothing in the house, except for graffiti, drug paraphinalia, a little framing and some old pipes. Asphalt shingled. At this point, I don't know if the foundation can stay or not.
Is there a rule of thumb on demolition and hauling costs (per sq. ft.?)? Any ideas on permit costs in urban areas?
Thanks!
