Demo a house by donating it to Fire Department for training

We have an old house that we are going to demolish before building a new one. I heard that you can donate a house to a local fire department for a training. Sounds like a good idea for saving a cost on demo. Had anybody done this before? If you did, were there any pitfalls in this strategy? What to watch for? If you considered against it, why? The house is located in Seattle, Ballard neighborhood.
