How to find a good GC in Los Angeles

I am Developing a 34 Unit 8 story Multi Family rental property in LA.  Its currently in the entitlement stage so we need to find a great General Contractor to start working with on cost estimation, VE and schedule and then eventually build.  This is our first project in LA so we have limited connections for finding good Contractors.  Any suggestions from BP members with similar experience in LA would be appreciated. Thanks!

I highly recommend Brian Crommie of JT Builders for medium-sized multi family work in Los Angeles. As an architect, I've worked with him for many years including on the Cherokee Studios on Fairfax near Melrose. I was the project manager for Pugh+Scarpa Architects (now Brooks+Scarpa) on this project and Brian was our contractor. It is a mixed use building, 12 high end condos over commercial space plus underground parking. Brian is great to work with, very honest, has a great design eye and cares about doing the job right. Oh, and he also does estimating too.
