New Construction suggestions for STR

Hello,

Was going to start construction on a two story 3bd 3.5ba 1500sqft primary home and a 2bd 2.5ba 800sqft ADU. Looking for suggestions on any specific building materials, fixtures, accessories, furniture, and tech for a STR. It would be mainly rented to alumni, parents of students and people exploring the area by the University of Florida. Its about 8 blocks from the football stadium. I've built homes before but never for a STR investment.

Thanks!!

Steve

if you can go without buidling the extra garage below the ADU it will save a lot of money. if you can get two studios it will do much better than one ADU. I'd talk to your zoning office and see. 3 bed 3.5 bath in 1500 sq ft is pushing it. we build super compact and have a layout thats 3 bed 2.5 bath 1 car attached garage in Columbus Ohio. I'd have to see your overall layouts but I think you are on the right track. we build 3 story stacked triplexes and it's very efficient so don't be afraid to go up either. anytime you build more than 1 structure costs are much higher but if its just to offset mortgage and you want to be separate then I understand.
