Out of state Real Estate Development

Christopher Charles
Posted

Hey Guys, I'm an investor from NYC, I have been investing in Philly and Baltimore for about 4 years; primarily rental properties/ and flips. I am now looking to get into new construction development in the PG, Montgomery, and Rockville county areas of Maryland. Anyone could suggest any tips, resources, or builders/contractors they had worked with? Thanks in advance

Hey @Christopher Charles - I have two preliminary questions for you.

    1.  How did you find your general contractors in Philly and Baltimore?  Would that method work again?

    2.  How come you want to switch up the strategy and move markets at the same time?

Here in Chicago, we've found some of our best contractors from other good contractors or investors; I've found the in-person meetups yield the best results, so maybe you can take a trip to Maryland?  Additionally, there are Facebook groups where you can find some decent help, but there has to be quite a bit more due diligence and vetting with any and all contractors.
