I am asking for advice on an issues I am having right now. I am in a part of the world that making telephone calls is very difficult and have to rely on email. That being said, I try to get as much information on vacant land and the zoning codes via email but the Realtors will not respond. I am impatient at times but figure they are busy but going on 2 weeks plus and nothing in response. Should I just forget about that land and move on or keep at it?

@Dustin Oaks - it doesn't surprise me that realtors aren't responding to these kinds of requests (even though they do seem easy & simple enough from our perspective).

Similar to what others have said above, most real estate professionals need a good reason to respond to phone and email solicitations (especially email). I'm not an agent, but even from my perspective as an investor - when I get business calls and emails (which I get a ton of, btw), I usually don't feel compelled to respond unless it sounds like something that is likely to result in me making money in the not-too-distant future.

There are a ton of tire-kickers and time-wasters out there who aren't serious about doing business. If you expect a response from someone, you'd better make them believe that you have money, you're ready to do business and you're serious about making some decisions today.

When I need information about properties like this, I frankly don't EVER rely on real estate agents - mostly because of similar experiences to the one you're having right now. I just don't have time to contact them and trust that they'll respond (because at least half the time, they don't). You may want to find some alternative ways of getting this kind of basic information. You can usually get this for free by visiting the county's website (or calling their office), or by subscribing to a service like AgentPro247 which is very cheap and provides almost all of the basic information you'll be looking for.
