Residential and Multi family construction

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone is from the inland empire area in Southern California and would happen to know what the estimate costs would be to build either two 2/1 duplexes or 2 townhouses on a lot about 100/sqft each. Just a rough estimate on the overall cost of everything from permits, materials, paying the GC, on a rental quality build. I know this may be a broad question

A little background, I've never done construction before so this is a new venture so just trying to get a rough idea. I know there's lots of moving factors. On Google after looking at a few websites it ranges from $100/sqft to over $600k. I'm planning to build rental quality, not luxury or high end construction. I'm trying to see if the numbers would pencil out for me to purchase the land and build rentals on it if the cost to build and refi makes sense for the rental

Thank you for all your help and contributions, as always!

Andy
