Real Estate Development

Hello,

I am sure someone has posted here before asking the same question. I recently moved to the Bay area and I am an aspiring real estate developer. I've heard that now is the worst time to become a real estate developer due to the current economy but I am looking for a mentor or resources I can use to start learning about it until I am ready to go on my own.

Does anyone know how I can get started or someone I can mentor?
