Cost of building a home without land acquisition

Good Evening! 

I'm interested in building a SFH in the Virginia Beach area and was curious what the average cost per square footage was? Assuming the site area is level and clear. I know there are multiple factors that go into this.

under 2K square feet, colonial or contemporary home, utilities would be provided by HRSD and Dominion.
