Getting Permits on a Pre-existing Addition
My husband and I are looking at purchasing property with an addition that wasn't permitted but is in the process of getting it permitted now. It's roughly a 400 sqft addition plus a bathroom. There's a high chance that if we go into contract that the permits won't be done/finalized before we close.
My biggest concern is that we buy this property and they don't like something and they make us completely tear it down. I wouldn't be as concerned if we have to tear out the shower/bathroom to show plumbing and things like that.
Has anybody done something like this before?
