Career Path in Real Estate Investing

Hello,

For the investors that have a degree in business (specifically Finance) what career path has helped you scale and invest in real estate investing?

The end goal is to be able to syndicate large deals.

Any tips of companies to work for, skills/designations/certifications to attain to improve my skills?

Current background: Finance student looking for an entry analyst role in a firm that focuses on acquisition where I can learn which I will utilize later on to help me with acquiring deals.

Thank you,

Karl

@Karl Dela Cruz I will save you some time. You do not need a college degree to start multifamily syndications. I studied finance at a business school in Indiana and there may be some skills that translate over but the degree itself did not help me.

What helped me was spending countless hours outside of school reading books about multifamily syndications, networking with active real estate investors, and joining mentoring programs and groups. I did however take a job working for a bank as a commercial multifamily underwriter. This has provided great experience and has allowed me learn a lot more about the lending side of multifamily.

School can be valuable but in the end it is going to be your grit, determination, and hunger that allows you to be successful in syndications.

Let me know if I can help you in any way.
