Getting Started in Real Estate Development

Hey everyone, was wondering what advice you would recommend to someone looking to get started as a real estate developer. my end goal would be to make large mid and even high rise apartment buildings (100+) units as well as townhouse developments. Not sure why, but those have always interested me, and there is definitely money to be made there.

How would I go about getting started in this area? My first thoughts were to start developing small multifamily properties (2-4 units) or even just single family properties, then work my way up to bigger projects, but no sure how I would bridge the gap from building a fourplex to a large condo building with underground parking and such.

The only construction ecxperience I currently have is from a few BRRRR deals I have done/am doing.

Any advice or direction would be great appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Development requires serious expertise and deep pockets or the ability to raise capital and find partners to guarantee loans until you are strong enough financially. There is a lot to the process amd yes you can start  small and scale up or start bigger if you have the resources but first step is to educate yourself on the business itself.
