Increased value by converting a property to a legal duplex
Hello all, My wife and I are in the process of deciding whether of not to convert our property to a legal duplex and how much value that may add to the property at resale. The current property is zoned commercial and would need to be changed to a duplex. There have been businesses operated out of the property with the owner of the business residing on the second floor.
Right now there are separate entrances to each unit. They are not metered separately and so there is some work to be done. Trying to understand if this is worth the cost to convert with increased property value. Home is located in fort collins, colorado.
