I disagree with "stop reading" but I definitely agree with the sentiment of "start doing!" Which is what I think you're really driving at here. Keep reading but start implementing lessons you learn sooner rather than later.

Hunter Thompson's book on Raising Capital for Real Estate is very good and deserves to be in that pile of books, to be sure.
