Evaluating update/upgrade costs on multi-family bldg
Looking at acquiring a pre-1950 5+ unit bldg in the SFBayArea. In putting together my evaluation, I have big unknowns for for required/recommended major updates (plumbing, electrical, roof, etc).
As this is my first such endeavor, I'm looking guidance on how to get a sense of this. Do you have favorite strategies around these questions? Favorite reading on this topic (BP posts, books)? Who would you ask for help? (contractor? appraiser? agent?)
