Apartment owners: do you care about property management fees?

There are some new discount property management companies that charge 6% instead of the more typical 9% and have data showing that they keep vacancy and rents the same as the 9% alternatives. I'm wondering why they haven't picked up more traction. For example, if you're interested in selling your apartment, you could switch to a discount property manager for a year (going from, say 9% to 6% of rents) and increase the value of your property by 3%, netting yourself thousands on the sale.

So tell me, apartment owners, do you care about property management fees?

@Jordan Meyer I wish managers would use some level of dynamic pricing.  In my area 10% is the norm, plus leasing commissions 1/2 to 1 month rent is the norm.

As mentioned, considering the overall poor performance I received when using a 3rd party manager, I can agree that this is not an industry of you get what you pay for.

Another facet of your comment: assuming 6% PM is equal to the 9% PM in terms of overall performance and cost (remember there are various ways PMs can "hide fees" into their contract) then the savings does help you, but not necessarily a future buyer. NOI divided by cap rate is the very rough way of valuing a property. Before I buy a property, I am going to make sure the numbers work with me operating the property. So if market rate PM is 9%, I will use that regardless of what you pay when valuing and offering on the property.
