@Nicole Schertzer you are not willing to buy a property that needs repairs but willing to buy land and go through the construction process with no prior construction expiration??

-- Sorry but it doesn't make sense to me.... dealing with Cities for building permits, sourcing material and dealing with subcontractors is a much much much more complicated then buying a house or a small multifamily to renovate and rent. Read this article herehttps://www.biggerpockets.com/...

I can give you many reasons why i rather invest in Real Estate and not Stock market, but the main  3 reasons are:

1. you can buy bellow value at any time and add value to create additional equity and cash flow in short time frame.

2. you have full control of the asset and decision making relating to it.

3. You can leverage Real Estate much better then Stock.

Recently i actually came  across many stock investors and funds managers that looking to get in the Real Estate.

But its your call, I first suggest you get yourself educated by asking questions here, listening to podcasts, reading books, watching videos and deciding on your strategy before jumping in.
