Building Inspection Estimates

I am in contract for a mixed use building (2 resi units, 2 commercial units) on Long Island. Does anyone have any guidance as to how much a building inspection report should be? Along with receiving a general inspection, the guy I plan on using is a licensed engineer as well.

@Jansen H. This is very market specific but I would estimate that the cost would be around $1,500. I would certainly make sure that they were a licensed inspector. Being an engineer does not really factor into this type of service. On top of being a licensed inspector it is helpful if they are a licensed contractor in the municipality of the property. This allows them to state necessary changes instead of making mere recommendations. Inspectors can only recommend. @Dan Handford
