Newbie, what is the best city for a multifamily investment?

Hello all,

I am a newbie to bigger pockets. I live in sunny SoCal and want to invest in something out of state that will cash flow.

I have been analyzing deals on BP and I cannot seem to find something that makes sense on the west coast.

Which cities should I consider for multifamily? I have been on the west coast all my life. I do not know anything about the east coast or the mid west. I have a 4 plex in San Antonio, TX that I bought with 3 of my friends. We got lucky, it was a new construction, and we bought in 2012 at the bottom. I would like to replicate that but every time I run the numbers on BP.

Anyone investing in Las Vegas, Pheonix, Portland, or Seatle? What are your thoughts?

I have about 200k cash to invest. Any advice is appreciated.

I guess the correct questions is how do I identify which city to invest in?

Cheers!

Tamer

@Tamer Shalaby I’m currently evaluating where I would like to target when I scale my multi family investing and found this Joe Fairless blog to be very helpful
