Co own a duplex with ex girlfriend, can I buy her out?

Last year me and my ex girlfriend bought a duplex together, rented out one side And lived in the other for cheap,. Long story short, we broke up and I now live in one side and she lives in the other,. We are both on the title however the Loan is under her alone because my credit wasn’t good enough to be on the loan but I brought most of the capital to buy it.. My question is what would be the best way to buy her out? Is it possible they could just transfer the loan to me because I’m on the title and have made on time payments for over a year now? If we reached an agreement on a sum of money for her to let it go to me? My credit is still not up to par because I got killed by old medical bills and acouole missed student loan payments... what is the smartest thing to do in this situation ?

@Jeffrey David Marland  Does your ex girlfriend want to sell her half of the duplex?  If so, then figure out a fair price.  If she doesn't, ask her if she wants to buy you out and go and buy your own duplex.
