Had an isolated domestic incident shooting at my apartment in Huntsville Alabama.

Do you need to report this to the insurance company?

You should. I’ve had this too and two years later the victim in the shooting filed a bogus lawsuit. Thankfully we told our insurer about it when the incident happened so they already had record of it when the suit was filed.  They defended the suit so we were all covered.

I’m not sure that they would have done any differently had we not told them at the time, but there’s nothing to lose by reporting it.
