Help on Canadian multi family financing !!

To any of my fellow Canadian BP investors I would love to hear your input. I have spent the last year or so saving money and education my self on single family homes and how the banking / financing works with them but I have done my self a disservice. I have ignored multi family investments as I have some serious catching up to do in regards to the financing aspect of it.

From what I understand ( in America) a multi family home is looked at more so as a business, and there value in the eyes of the bank is derived from there profit generating ability and not so much from near by comps of other multi families that have recently sold.

This model is very appealing to me because it ads another avenue for me to increase value / equity outside of the normal means.

How does this compare to the Canadian system? I can’t find much out there that describes the details to any useful degree. Any recommendations for resources or books I should read ?
