It's an effective way to keep customers informed. Email marketing isn't something marketers do just because they can and it's easy. The tactic is very effective at helping business owners and consumers stay connected. There is a real value to staying connected to customers and email marketing makes that easy to do.

  • Be clear. Know what you want to say and how to say it. This is important because your audience should be able to understand what you are trying to tell them in order to gain and keep your credibility
  • Be concise. Of course it is important to be clear, but do not over complicate your points. Keep it clear and simple but concise.
  • Avoid fluffy language. Don't add information that is not important to the point of your email.
  • Consider your audience. Explain concepts that your audience needs to understand and you will exponentiate your open rate.
  • Write like you speak. If it helps, write an email like you are talking to your client/investor. The world is filled with useless, brandless emails so don't be afraid to stand out and write like you speak.

What are some other tips that you have come across in email marketing?
