Newbie to Pearland/Houston Real Estate

I am reading Michael Blank’s Financial Freedom with Real Estate Investing and it has motivated me to exit the rat race. I want more time to spend with my daughter, to travel and to make more money for my family and many generations to come. For years, I’ve made every excuse to not take actions toward obtaining financial freedom. I’m tired of excuses. I am a bonafide novice and would like to expand my network to learn more from others already making moves. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am open to learn from anyone.
