First time buyer of Multifamily Unit - 16 unit

I am a first time rental property buyer and I have found a 16 unit multifamily building and I am wondering if this is too much to handle for a first time buyer/landlord. I do have a full time job and the building is in the neighboring town that is about an hour away.

I am just trying to see if this is something I can reasonably do or is this too lofty for my first buy?

Hi Jason,

It is not too much if you have built a team to help you. Do you have an inspector, CPA, attorney, title company to help you when you begin?  16 units is a great size for your first deal. You may need to employ a resident manager to help out in the beginning. An hour drive may be difficult at first, but the thought of cash flow at the end of the month will make the drive worth it.

Good luck

Gino
