How to have seller carry 1st/2nd conversation with seller

Hi all,

Thank you all for the contribution.

How do I have the conversation with the seller about carrying a 1st or 2nd mortgage? I want to put it in laymen’s terms.

1st - Would you consider being the bank? I’d make a down payment to you and then pay off the balance with interest.

2nd - ???
