Washer and dryers

I have 2 story apartment town homes.Washer and dryer is in the hall upstairs.

I am finding that some tenant leaks are from using cheap connection hoses or they buy a used washer even with a warranty it burst and water goes everywhere down into the ceiling.

Is it just better to provide a washer and dryer with the unit when rented so that they cannot use these older models they buy for cheap and leak??

Just trying to minimize maintenance calls and damage to the units.

I guess I could install a floor drain where the washer is in case it leaks it will run into the drain instead of the ceiling.I saw Mike Holmes do this on a show but do not know the cost or how difficult it would be to do it.
