How to Structure Fourplex Purchase

Hi BP, my brother and I are in the process of trying to purchase a fourplex. I can provide (most of) the downpayment but I need his income to qualify for the purchase. Essentially, we both need each other to be able to buy the property but one hitch, he can't/doesn't want the debt associated with his name, at least in a year from now when he goes to purchase his own primary residence.

Any ideas how we can structure this purchase? Any ideas are appreciated

Howdy @Curtis H.

The simple answer is you need to form an LLC for this partnership. Then purchase the property thru it. Contact a Real Estate attorney to find out the details and cost associated with using this entity.

Good luck.
