Seller wont release tax returns

Hello,

I am a seasoned multifamily investor and am currently in contract with a pretty big company that has 100 million plus in multifamily properties. The problem is the property is over 9 million dollars but the seller wont release tax returns. I have been in this game quite a while and have never seen this problem and was wondering if anyone would know why someone wouldn't release tax returns while under contract. This may be a deal breaker for me if I can't receive some sort of verified financials. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Probably because all his investments are intermingled in his returns and he does not want his entire portfolio on the table. Have him suggest another way to satisfy your requirements.
