Affect of choosing a Bad Market for Multi Family Investing

Hi Bigger Pockets,

There have been many articles about the perils and pitfalls that come with multi family investing in a bad market (Declining population / job growth, crime, price). On a first hand experience basis, does anyone have any stories of a time they invested in a "Bad" market and what the consequences were?

Thanks all!

Chudi and  @Marcus W.
