Private water meters

When I built my current rentals I spent a fair amount of extra money to run separate water services with water company meters. The idea is to get the tenants to pay for their own water thereby eliminating that fixed cost. Looking forward it also lends them to becoming condominiums.

I have found dealing with the local water company to be less than ideal, their billing is slow, they have no website, and phone service is poor. They are not set up for rapid changes, more like you buy a house and put the water in your name for the next decade.

So for my next project I'm going to save money by running in one water line and I'm going to use private meters. Now I don't want to use the old fashion ones where I have to go around and read them and bill, that's a job. Anyone use the modern wireless ones that generate readings on your computer?
