$100 / door duplexes or apartment building?

So in my local market (Central and South Florida) it seems as though I can get $100 a door for stuff I'm looking at but can buy more doors for less money if I go with duplexes vs apartments. My question is will it become equal when I consider the fact that I'm dealing with more expenses because of more buildings and the fact that they are spread out? Any of you out there with any experience of one versus the other?
