Newbies introducing ourselves

Ken Livingston
Posted

Hello Everyone. My wife (Beth) and I (Ken) are new to the real estate investing world. We live in northern NJ. I have been doing some research and reading for the last year or so on this subject and recently got my wife started in this direction as well. We are having "class time" almost every night in listening to a book on tape and talking about what we have heard. Having her become interested has been great. We are partners in life and now looking to be partners in business as well. One of the books I have read "The Book on Rental Property Investing" By Brandon Turner has brought me to this site. I have also joined a few groups on meetup.com and we are attending our first meetup/speaker/networking event tomorrow night.

We are looking into the multi-family avenue and specifically house hacking for our first investment. From all I have read it is a great way to get started and get involved in the game. Due to some inheritance we have a nice startup fund heading our way. We have already gotten our pre approval letter and have a trusted family friend who happens to own a real estate business. She already has us on a few MLS lists and we have discussed our plans with her. Super happy to have her in our corner and she is very good at what she does.

Just wanted to introduce us to you all. I plan on being around here and reading and asking questions often. will hopefully talk to some of you soon.
