Heating Oil to Electric or Propane
I am buying a 3 family property for rentals but the heating system is oil with only one boiler supplying the heat and hot water to each unit. Can someone please advise if there is a way to have each tenant be responsible for their own heating? Is it easy to convert to Propane or Gas?
I'm new at this and I do not want to end up paying so much for oil and not making any money on the property.

I am an experienced CT based investor. Unless there are three zones (1 for each unit), it is going to be very difficult to split off.
I just converted a house with a single heating system to three heating systems. The cost of this was $19k so know that you are going to pay a bunch of money but it can be done.
You should also determine what the radiators are. If they are steam, you would need three steam boilers. It could be possible to run electric heat in some of those, but that will still be very costly. Most tenants do not like having electric baseboard as electricity is more expensive than gas.
