Adding Separate Electric Meters

Any ideas on a ballpark cost for adding separate electric meters? I am looking at an 8 unit MF and only 3 are currently metered separately. Am I looking at several thousand per meter or a lot more? Anyone have this done in DFW on an old property (1950s)? All units have their own HVAC system which was added in a total overhaul in the 90s.
