Any multifamily syndication operators in Upstate, South Carolina?

Hi. Are any syndication operators (or anyone know of any) active/interested in Upstate, SC - specifically Greenville? I'm interested in multifamily investing & would like to better understand the specifics of apartment investing in my area. Any thoughts on if I should focus on my area or maybe consider a different market? I'm also interested in NC, GA, and Columbus, OH.

Hi @La Vera Frazier - I live in Utah, but have invested in a few properties in Columbus Ohio. I actually worked with Remington Lyman to purchase those and he is a great contact to have in the market. I recently formed a partnership with a couple colleagues and we just acquired a 15-unit property in Arkansas. However we are very interested in the Columbus Ohio market and I love the fundamentals of the market. For Columbus in your underwriting the big item to watch out for is property taxes. I have also noticed if you are close to the downtown area that most properties are very old, like early 1900's old and so maintenance is higher than what you would expect. I would be happy to help in any way I can, and again Remington is an awesome contact to have with lots of local connections in the area. Best of luck in whatever area you choose to invest in.
