Should a new investor obtain a real estate license?

I am located in Southern California, and I am a new investor looking for a 2-4 unit building to buy in the next 12 months. I was wondering if it would be smart to obtain my real estate license, so I would never need one for my REI career. Does anyone recommend doing this, or is it a waste of time and not necessary?

@Johnathan Cabral I got my license because I want to buy a house in California every year as an investment! This and I am also looking to transition full time to helping people buy and sell houses with a focus on investors. I really like the house hack model and if you plan on doing one deal a year it makes sense to represent yourself and apply the commissions to furnishing or rate buy down etc.
