Finding a market to get started

Hey Guys been looking to get into multi-family investing but not exactly sure what area I should start . What are some ways you all went about finding a market ?

@Ligmon Williams, multifamily investing is a broad topic.  You can invest directly or passively.  Direct ownership can be very hands on or more as an asset manager with PMs doing the day to day.  This would all effect where you invest.

You also have large scale and small scale.  

Assuming you want to own directly mean anywhere from a duplex to 30-40 unit size, I would highly recommend local.  Knowing the risk profile of the area is imperative, as this will effect appreciation (primary driver of all real estate returns), and tenant risk (the biggest wild card when buying a rental property).
