Fighting Investor purchased Rights of Redemption- KS

Jamie Hemme
Posted

Hi All,I just purchased my first property at a sheriff’s sale in Kansas.  This first property is to be my primary residence.  I found out today the the rights of redemption was sold to an investor and they have filed.  This transaction is complicated as the lender was sued by the owner and was forced to buy the property back from her.  So who sold the redemption rights?  How do I fight this?

thanks,
Jamie

Jamie, I'm so sorry this happened to you. While you'll likely get a lot of good opinions and feedback on this forum, I suggest you contact a local real estate lawyer as soon as possible. You need to thoroughly understand your legal rights and obligations.
