Finding a good short sale mitigator for a reasonable fee
I currently know a mitigator, but the fee he wants is 4 times higher than the one I used 3 or 4 years ago. The one I used then no longer does it. What is a reasonable fee for a mitigator? Having taken a course that covered shorts from A-Z a few years ago, could I/should I just do it myself?

@Tim Criswell Your short sale specialist doesn’t need to be local. @Brett Goldsmith is very experienced and knowledgeable.

I sent you a PM. If you are trying to buy it, no you shouldn't be processing it. Also, if you have no true experience processing a short sale, you are likely doing the transaction a disservice. Different companies charge different amounts. Some do 1% of the gross sales price and have a minimum, other's try to charge multiple points or a large flat fee. It really just depends.

Thank you Brett. Should I be able to find one online in my area? If so, what keywords would I use in a search? Or would it be better to go to a local REIA and ask around?
