Help! Need To Track Down An Old Howard Savings Bank Loan.

Hi All:

I'm trying to close on a preforeclosure that has an old Howard Saving Bank (HSB) Mortgage attached. The loan originiated back in 1987 as a HELOC. I used to be a stomer of theirs as I've witnessed my checking accounts go from Howard through several other banks before ending up at Wells Fargo (WF). All in a 20 year period. Original Borrower is deceased and heirs aren't sure if it was paid off or not as they have no record of a discharge.

So this one might be at WF but I'm checking with you guys to see if there might be any other financial institution whose servicing old HSB loans. Thanks in advance.
