Open or Expired Permits, or no permits, on REOs
At what point does this actually become a problem, or does it? I have been told by a title company that they don't check the permit history. Will the lender for your end buyer cause a stink if there is something unpermitted? Or does the actual buyer have to bring the subject up and create a problem?
Do you avoid making offers on REOs if they have major unpermitted work like a patio, reroof, or fireplace or room addition?
