I won an online auction - what now?

So I just won a property on auction.com and the property is occupied, which means they have a redemption period.

Can someone give me their experience and/or advice on how to handle this whole process?

I'm a first-time homebuyer and I have very little experience with this.

Thank you!

I have only bought one property on auction that was occupied. I can tell you what I did and you can take it for what it's worth. After the paperwork was done, I went over and knocked on the door and told them I was the new owner of the house. I was courteous and asked them what their intent was. They claimed they didn't know the property was being auctioned, but they said they would vacate on x date and take everything that wasn't nailed down essentially. I said, sounds great and they did what they said they would. They left the house a mess and took all appliances, but otherwise I can't complain compared to other stories I have seen on here.

You will get some other advice I am sure, but every situation is different. I think you need to go over and say you now own the property and ask what they plan on doing. How they answer that dictates your next steps.

Good luck.
