Is 10k to 15k worth anything today??

Ok so it looks like the FDIC deal that was accepted by me is not going to be a good idea afterall.. What I'd like to know from my fellow biggerpockets team is "Can 10k-15k get me anything in the Atlanta area that's worth spending my money on??" Perhaps a HUD home or maybe even another area?? Or should I keep saving and if so what's an o.k. figure?
