FSBO when a home is under foreclosure
Hello,
I have a home that I'm expecting will be under foreclosure (i.e. in redemption period) within the next 2-3 months. I was planning to attempt to sell it myself—regular sale, not short. Setting aside the general advisability of this strategy, I'm wondering if it's even possible. I've spoken to a HUD counselor who told me that lenders almost always compel homeowners under foreclosure to work with a licensed realtor. Can anyone speak to this and give me a definitive answer based on their experiences?
Thanks.
