Government shutdown and VA/FHA loans

I have many military and government friends who have seen this before, but we all still wonder... what's going to happen if the government stays shut down past the weekend? Well, if you're about to begin a VA or FHA loan, go ahead. The processing of VA/FHA loans is considered essential activity, so those offices will continue to be staffed. It just may take a little longer if the shutdown is extended. The article below gives more detail on the matter. I truly hope this won't be a topic of concern by Monday morning.
